Malawi
In 2017, at the invitation of Namikango Mission, AFM met with fire service leaders in Malawi. A country roughly the size of Pennsylvania, Malawi has only four fire stations and roughly 200 firefighters. In contrast, Pennsylvania alone has over 1800 fire departments. The country of Malawi has never bought any of its own fire trucks or fire equipment - relying on aid to support their fire brigades. They wish to provide the services their communities need. AFM is connecting Malawi to the Zambia fire service for support and exchange of ideas. The AFM team has since returned to Malawi to provide fire safety instruction.
